To help the metal zipper last longer, regular care is recommended. From time to time, the teeth may be lightly lubricated with a special zipper lubricant, paraffin wax, candle wax, or a very small amount of sewing machine oil. Avoid applying too much lubricant, and always test first to ensure it does not stain the fabric. Do not force the sliders if the zipper becomes stuck.
